Are there things you say to others that when said to you, don’t feel like you’d expect? Like enjoy your kids while they’re little. Well, yes, but you know big kids are great too. Or “Let go, let God.” Oy! That one is great, but when it’s used against towards me, its bitter aftertaste burns.
Here’s one I saw recently right as I am in the midst of a so-called adventure.
This sounds so lovely. Like, the only true failure is the failure to try. Don’t be afraid to love, be afraid not to. It all sounds so lovely until it’s ME.
The best adventure ever?
I don’t know about you, but my best adventure ever does not involve hives or crying.
So, what about you? What words of wisdom could you do without?
“Try everything once with the exception of incest and folk dancing.”
–Sir Thomas Moore
This would make a fantastic tattoo.
