Prayers and Cocktails

Here we go…entering the blogging world. It seems I should have something significant to share. Shouldn’t there be a test of some sort, a permit or certificate to earn prior to my words contributing to the mass availability of words? A few moments of reading other blogs clearly makes this untrue.

Anyone can blog. And I am nothing if not anyone.

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what the “theme” of this blog might be. What do I have to offer? What do I know enough about that might be of some interest to other anyones– and would offer me enough material to keep a blog going beyond a day?   I reviewed the different areas of my life: wife, mother, step mother, writer, educator, gardener, martini aficionado… Nothing. Nada. Zipparoo.

But above, around and under all those is my faith in God and my attempts to live that faith in a great big, wonderful, terrible and often ridiculous world. I’m not talking the God screamed about from pulpits or diluted by political correctness.  I’m talking the one that said, “I am the way, the truth and the light.” Yea, that God.

Though, my love of martinis was a close second. So, let’s get together for prayers and cocktails and see how it goes.

  1. Cheers!
I think you need to be just a wee bit more specific about what your focus is going to be. I know you’re sort of still figuring it out, but just saying “I’m a Christian and not a teetotaler” doesn’t tell people who don’t know you a whole lot.

  2. All the cups are empty…

Reach out your hand if your cup be empty,
If your cup is full may it be again,
Let it be known there is a fountain,
That was not made by the hands of men.

  3. Hi Charise, welcome to the world of blogging. I’ve been blogging for a couple of years and really, for me, advice I offer is to have fun with it. I invite you to come on over to my blog and say hi 🙂 Terra
